在新竹新埔的風之谷攀樹場，自然原始感十足的林地上，可見一條條繩索垂掛九丁榕大板根巨木。這日一場親子攀樹體驗，小朋友各各臉龐雀躍，從開始的失序躁動到全神貫注在全身運力、手腳協調的攀樹行動中，意外的，在小朋友身上感受不到過多的恐懼，一遍又一遍地升降瘋玩。不知是否因為孩童相較成人少有因現代積累而僵化的身體和心理反應，存有較多的原始本能，小孩的學習力似乎更勝大人哪！ 來到風之谷，不只在攀樹，全日的活動中結合了生態導覽、原始生火、射箭、野炊體驗等野外求生技能探索，大地引領，要相信自己更多，要依賴更少，身體知覺往外張開了一些，感受無知，便開始覺知

「當陽光從林間灑下時，那種景象真的很美。」山野悠遊的教練吳旭昇在解釋攀樹樂趣時這樣說，因為想讓學員有專屬上課的場所，他們特別在桃園楊梅與新竹新埔的交界地帶，買下可供攀樹的場地，現場攀爬樹種是堅固的九丁榕，吳旭昇笑說，因為這類樹種抗風力強，還被稱為「九重吹」，認為有九重風都吹不動。

在山野悠遊的攀樹課程裡，包含半日、全日及2日的初級與進階課程，通常全日以上的都會包含野炊，可讓學員現場生火烤肉或用鍋子煮白飯等，也可能火空窯烤地瓜，而在攀樹過程中，若瞧見任何昆蟲或蛇、蛙，教練們也會現地做起生態教學，也是另一種戶外樂趣。

參加攀樹體驗的另一好處，就是學習各種繩結的運用打法，比起一般課堂較單調的教學，現場實際運用，對孩子的野外求生技巧頗有裨益。親子體驗初級攀樹課程可不只是單純上下繩而已，包括上下、左右、空中漫步、枝條漫步，在樹與樹間遊走，與樹一同搖擺，樂趣無窮。與樹一同搖擺，攀樹體驗能讓孩子親近大自然。

山野悠遊戶外探索團隊，是由各項精通戶外活動的專家組成，而其中的靈魂人物吳旭昇從事登山、攀岩等二十餘年，近年來鑽研荒野求生 Bushcraft 技術，自學原始生火技術，用全天然的材料製作弓箭，自己採藤、削藤、編藤籃，以及印第安鞣皮術並製作皮件等。他號召一群同好固定舉辦野外研討，推廣 Bushcraft 的概念，並在原有登山、溯溪等戶外行程之外，開設一系列荒野求生課程，目標是建立台灣的 Bushcraft 發展基地，帶更多人進入野地，回歸野性生活。
