自2018年由臺東縣政府首創最美星空活動，其迴響相當熱烈；2021年將延續這股熱潮持續辦理，持續推廣最美星空系列活動，鎖定台東光害較少的14處星等點位，由專業天文講師帶領民眾認識專屬台東的最美星空，為您介紹台東最美星空觀星點位，認識天體、講述星座故事與天文知識，希望藉由這系列活動讓台東的星空被更多人看見

台東縣政府官方認證的星空導遊都是由專業的天文老師、在地觀光老師進行室內培訓及戶外星空解說​而成，每年4月至10月都有場次，也可透過「台東最美星空」網站尋找您心儀的導覽人員安排星空導覽服務
